Bad Growth: Rethinking Europe’s Economy
About the program
Finland—like the rest of Europe—is ageing, facing intense geopolitical headwinds, and competing in a fragmenting global economy. At the same time, we confront an existential climate crisis and widening inequality. Economic policy has so far fallen short: growth is anaemic, unemployment is the second-highest in Europe, bankruptcies are at record levels, and climate ambition is slipping.
It is time to ask: What should Finland’s—and Europe’s—economic recipe look like for a sustainable, fair, and future-proof society?
